LEMON PEEL RECIPE FOR PAIN

Over 30% of Americans complained of joint pain in the last month according to a national survey. Aching joints cause great physical discomfort, but luckily we have lemons to address this issue.
THE REASONS BEHIND JOINT PAIN
The main culprits responsible of joint pain are some medical conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, gout and bursitis. Injuries such as joint sprain can also lead to this.

The function of joints is to connect the bones in the body thus enabling us to move our limbs and other body parts. However, the cartilage that prevents our bones from rubbing wears away because of different reasons and this results in joint pain which can range from irritating to exhausting.
LEMON-AID

Vitamin C is an essential part of lemons, approximately 31% of a daily recommended amount. Vitamin C is needed for the creation of a very important protein in our bodies that forms tendons, ligaments, skin and blood vessels. The body recuperation is also dependent on vitamin C. It actually prompts wound healing, scar tissue formation and cartilage, bone and teeth maintenance. Apart from vitamin C, lemon rinds are also rich in calcium, both of which are vital for a healthy skeleton.
LEMON RIND RECIPE FOR JOINT PAIN
If you practice this before going to bed, differences will be noticeable by the following morning.
INGREDIENTS
  • 4 lemons
  • Olive oil
You also need:
  • A jar
  • Gauze
  • Plastic bag
  • Woolen shawl

INSTRUCTIONS
Put some lemon rind in a jar and fill it with olive oil to the top.
  • Close the jar and leave it for 2 weeks.
  • After two weeks, you can use the remedy by putting some of the oil on gauze and applying it on the painful joint.
  • Cover the gauze with a plastic bag and then wrap it with a woolen shawl.
  • YOU CAN EAT THE LEMON PEELS TOO!
  • Although it may sound strange, lemon peel is actually edible as it gives numerous health benefits:
  • 1.  It reduces cholesterol levels; the peel contains potassium which helps to maintain blood pressure levels and polyphenol flavonoids which help to reduce bad cholesterol.
  • 2. It improves immunity and digestion; lemon peel is rich in nutritious fiber that stimulates regular bowel movement and vitamin C, which is highly beneficial for flu, a sore throat, common colds and similar infections.
  • 3. It enhances skin quality; the citric acid and vitamin C in lemon rinds are extremely efficient in battling free radicals that cause aging and dark spots on the skin.
  • 4. It stimulates weight reduction; lemon rinds contain pectin, an ingredient that inhibits the body from absorbing excess amounts of carbohydrates.
