Would You Stay In Bed For 70 Days Straight? NASA Will Pay You $18,000 If You Said Yes!

This might be insane for you but yes NASA is looking for volunteers to be in bed for 70 days and for that they will pay that person $18,000. To many people it sounds like a really easy job but being in bed for 70 days is too much. But the prize is too much too and that is why you should ask yourself – Could you be in bed for 70 days? You will have the permission to play games on your mobile, to read books to be in contact with your friends and family to use the computer as long as you don’t get out of bed.

Have you ever dreamed of becoming astronaut one day? Well this will not make you a real astronaut but you will be part of that project because you are helping the country further conquer the final frontier which is the space. If astronauts land on Mars in the future, the test subjects should be able to say that they helped with that. And that is how people look on it – as help. That is what Dr. Roni Cromwell stated.
To research the effects of microgravity on the human body is the main purpose of this study. The study actually simulates the effects of long-duration spaceflight by having test subjects to be in bed for 70 days. Those beds are tilted head-down at a six-degree angle and that is in order to cause the body fluids to shift to the upper part of the body, sets off cardiovascular events that are similar to what we see in a space flight.
Astronauts when floating around in space are not using their muscles a lot because they are longer period of time in space because with just a fingertip they are able to propel themselves across the room. And they need this study in order to minimize the changes that occur to the body during spaceflight and to enable the return of normal body functions. And with that they can save a lot of flight time. With that bed rest they will be able to help them to be well prepared and to protect astronauts while they are in space.
If you want to have this job NASA is looking for very healthy ones for this study. They want to have a people that are ready mentally to spend 70 days in bed because not everyone could do that without having any side effects. If you pass the physical and mental tests then you will go through set of physical exercises in order for NASA to test your muscle strength and aerobics capacity. This is so because NASA is looking for someone that is having the psychological characteristics of astronauts.
There is a story about Heather Archuletta (today working as a NASA contractor). She volunteered for this study in 2008 and she explained how it was and she told that her feet were actually really painful after 54 when she walked. But what motivated her is the reason she is doing this for the astronauts. She was saying that to herself most of the time. She stated
that is a wonderful experience and that she also met many real astronauts there too.
You will be in bed rest for total of 15 weeks and that means $1,200 per week. The best thing is that the food will be free!
