8 Unexpectedly Good Fried Food That You Need To Try!

You probably eat a healthy and balanced diet for most of the year or at least you are trying to. Once in while, when you decide to give it a rest, indulge in these totally unique and scrumptious fried foods.

These foods are all batter dipped and deep fried. Shallow frying will not give you the same crispy texture all around. Many these recipes call for frozen scoops to be fried for very short periods over high heat. The food item should be completely submerged in hot oil.
If you are hosting a party, most of these recipes can be made ready for frying, ahead of time. These foods can be then be quickly fried and served piping hot to your guests. Hot and crunchy on the outside, cold and melting inside, the contrasting textures and temperatures create an explosion of sensations for your taste buds.

1. Deep Fried Oreos

You may have come across these delicacies in local county fairs. This is a fun dinner party dessert that can be easily made at home with pancake batter. Egg and milk are optional. Remember to keep the batter consistency thick enough to coat the biscuits.

2. Pineapple Fritters

Banana fritters were a staple in my house till they got replaced by a new favorite: chilled, sweet and juicy pineapple. Serve some super crispy pineapple fritters made with light tempura batter, as starters at your party. Add a dash of cinnamon or drizzle some honey over them.

3. Fried Watermelon

It is extremely easy to make fried watermelon. Dip watermelon cubes into light pancake batter and then deep fry them. Top with castor sugar for a unique and colorful dessert.

4. Deep Fried Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough

The ultimate indulgent dessert, deep fried chocolate chip cookie dough is made with frozen cookie dough that is dipped in batter and fried till crisp and golden brown. The inside will be soft and gooey with melted chocolate bits. Another idea along similar lines is simple dropping spoonful of leftover cake batter in hot oil to make crispy balls and then rolling them in melted chocolate. Simply dusting with cinnamon flavored icing sugar is also a great idea.

5. Crispy Strawberries with Chocolate Sauce

Loaded with vitamin C, fiber and antioxidants, there’s no denying strawberries are a popular fruit. Sweet, not too tart, these strawberry bites make a great spur-of-the-moment dessert. Just think what other berries can be used similarly…maybe raspberries?

6. Deep-Fried Guacamole

gucamole
Guacamole, the  avocado-based Mexican classic, has now become one of America’s favorite dips. To turn the dip into a salad dressing, the prepared guacamole is ground more finely till smooth and then water or  olive oil is added to make the consistency more flowing.  Guacamole is quite easy to make; mashed avocado is mixed with other ingredients like lime juice, salt, onion, cilantro, tomatoes, garlic and cayenne pepper. You can freeze leftover guacamole in ice cube trays. Pop the frozen cubes into batter and deep fry for a quick and amazing snack.

7. Deep Fried Butter Balls

These actually are said to taste like the most buttery bread you’ve ever had. You can combine some cheese with the butter and use a funnel cake batter to dip and fry them. You can also coat them with bread crumbs after dipping in the batter and then fry them crisp.

8. Deep Fried Candy Bars

Liquefied chocolate and caramel on the inside, crisp and crunchy on the outside! Try making these with different types of candy bars. My personal favorite is the deep fried snickers bar.
