We all know that the food we consume has the biggest influence on our health. If you compare a healthy diet that includes fruits and vegetables, to an anti-cancer one you will notice that they are not so different from each other.
You need to know that foods which prevent cancer have various features such as killing cancer cells or fighting inflammation which stimulates cancer growth. Some foods also fight against free radicals or remove toxins from the body. But, what we certainly know and approve is that natural organic food is beneficial for any kind of disease.

If you look at the list of foods which fight cancer, you will notice that it has nothing to do with the SAD (Standard American Diet). It is mostly consisted of herbs, spices, fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, healthy fats and so on. The list we present in this article is not so detailed, but it asserts the most effective foods which fight against cancer.
BEANS
Beans have high level of phytochemicals such as saponins which delay growth of the cancer and protease inhibitors and phytic acid. They slow down the reproduction of cancer cells and the progress of tumors. Beans are also rich in fiber and folate, or vitamin B9 which lower the possibility of getting pancreatic cancer.
BLACK SEED/OIL
Black seed oil, or also known as the black seed, the black cumin seed or black cumin was the subject of lots of researches published by now. It has a number of positive effects for the immune system and Dr. Hwyda Arafar even treated patients suffering from pancreatic cancer with it. The results were amazing- even 80% of the cancer cells were killed.
CARROTS
Carrots have positive effects in the fight against HPV and even leukemia. It is rich in the antioxidant beta-carotene which is proved to protect cell membranes from toxin damage and delay the growth of cancer cells.
CRUCIFEROUS VEGETABLES
The World Cancer Research Fund and the American Institute for Cancer conveyed researches which proved that broccoli and other cruciferous vegetables have positive effects in the fight against stomach, esophagus and mouth cancer. Cruciferous vegetables such as cabbage, broccoli, kale, bok choy, caulifrower and collards contain indole-3-carbinols (I3Css) and sulforaphane which successfully fight against cancer and make these vegetables so effective. They detoxify the body and prevent cancer cells of becoming malignant tumors. You should eat broccoli sprouts in order to gain higher nutritional value.
GARLIC
Although it smells bad, garlic is rich in anti-cancerous features which come exactly from its strong smell or Sulphur compounds. These sulphur compounds fasten the DNA, kill cancer cells and delay their development in the body. There are even more foods from the group of alliaceous ones that have positive effects for the health such as: leeks, onions, chives and shallots. The sulphur also prevents colon, breast, prostate and lung cancers.
GINGER
Ginger is rich in anti-inflammatory features which lower the development of various types of cancer, especially the ovarian cancer. Its root is also highly beneficial in healing arthritis, sore muscles, nausea and migraines. A research conveyed by the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center showed that ginger is far more effective in killing cancer cells in a test tube rather than the chemo therapy.

GRAPES AND RESVERATROL

Fruits such as cranberries, blueberries, grapes and pomegranate are highly rich in antioxidants and in resveratrol as well. The resveratrol prevents oxidation of LDL cholesterol, reduces inflammation and is also proved to kill cancer cells successfully and stop their division.
GREEN TEA
Green tea is rich in catechins, which delay the growth and development of tumor, and also in polyphenols, such as the epigallocatechin (EGCG) which kills cancer cells. In addition, this strong antioxidant can clean your liver and stop the growth of cancer.
POMEGRANATE
Pomegranate lowers the development of cancer cells since it is rich in antioxidant and anti-inflammatory features. But, you should be very careful and read the ingredients when you purchase pomegranate juice because it is highly rich in sugars.
SEA VEGETABLES
Sea vegetables such as kombu, kelp, arame, nori and hijiki have great nutritional values and contain high level of vitamins and minerals. A NIH/AARP study which included 490.000 participants found that those who regularly consumed spinach were less likely to develop esophageal cancer. This vegetable is rich in lutein and zeaxanthin, compounds which have the ability to remove the free radicals and unstable molecules from your body. These carotenoids can also be found in other green leafy vegetables. According to recent studies, these powerful compounds found in spinach and other foods are able to prevent and decrease the risk of ovarian, endometrial, lung, and colorectal cancer.
Strawberries
Strawberries are an excellent source of vitamin C and ellagic acid. Ellagic acid has the ability to inhibit the growth of tumor cells. All berries contain high amounts of antioxidants which protect your body from the harmful effects of the free radicals. Fruits and berries  can lower the risks of lung, mouth, stomach and esophagus cancer.
Tomatoes
Tomatoes are rich in lycopene, a powerful antioxidant which can reduce the risk of prostate cancer. According to lab study results, this natural compound can also protect you from breast, lung and endometrial cancer. Lycopene can also be found in red bell peppers, pink grapefruit and watermelon. When consumed regularly, peppers and tomatoes can significantly reduce the risk of several types of cancer, including prostate cancer. However, it is very important for you to know that these foods contain solanine, a compound which has negative influence on the inflammatory processes in the body.
Turmeric
Turmeric is widely used as a natural remedy and its powerful medicinal properties are due to curcumin, one of the most powerful antioxidants. There are numerous studies which have confirmed that curcumin is able to destroy cancer cells. The ethnobotanist James A. Duke has published comprehensive summaries of 700 turmeric studies.
Vitamin D
According to a great number of studies, vitamin D is essential for prevention against breast and colon cancer, as well as for increasing the survival rate in patients with lung cancer. “The food you eat can be either the safest and most powerful form of medicine or the slowest form of poison”, says Ann Wigmore.
