Do you love feeling healthy and living well? Then you are in need of this homemade ice-lemonade!As summer seems to be just round the corner I am finding myself already enjoying this raw lemonade on a daily basis.
The lemonade works like a charm because a child still receives the special sweet drink he/she loves while it secretly supports their health and hydration. So, this is awin-win drink for everybody!
The lemon brings antibacterial, antiviral, immune-boosting and weight-loss benefits
The medical benefits of the lemon include: throat infections, indigestion, constipation, dental problems, fever, internal bleeding, rheumatism, burns, obesity, respiratory disorders, cholera and high blood pressure. It is also excellent for hair and skin care.
Lemon juice, especially, has several health benefits associated with it. It is well known as a useful treatment for kidney stones, for reducing strokes and for lowering high body temperature. As a refreshing drink, lemonade helps you to stay calm and cool in this stressful life!
The lemon supports health because it is rich in citric acid, calcium, magnesium, vitamin C, bioflavonoids, pectin and limonene. These nutrients are known to boost immunity and keep infections at bay.
The lemon is also a great weight loss tool because the nutrients contained within it support digestion and cleansing of the liver.
Raw honey is antibacterial and antifungal
Bees swallow, digest and regurgitate nectar to make honey. This nectar contains amazing 600 compounds!
Scientists too couldn’t agree more with this old wisdom: “All honey is antibacterial because the bees add an enzyme that makes hydrogen peroxide,” said Peter Molan, director of the Honey Research Unit at the University of Waikato in New Zealand. Raw honey also contains flavonoids and antioxidants which help reduce the risk of some cancers and heart disease.
It’s good to know that the ancient Olympic athletes would eat honey and dried figs to enhance their athletic performance. This has now been verified with modern studies, showing that honey is superior in maintaining glycogen levels and in improving recovery time when compared with other sweeteners.
Honey helps with coughs, particularly buckwheat honey. In a study of 110 children, a single dose of buckwheat honey was just as effective as a single dose of dextromethorphan in relieving nocturnal cough and allowing beauty sleep.
